Our Mission
The Downers Grove Township is committed to offering strong public services that foster a prosperous community and fiscal responsibility. Our mission is to represent local residents that promote policies that promote growth, safety and high quality of life in our township.

- Expanding Senior Services: We will work to make sure that seniors have access to programs and resources that improve their quality of life.
- Road Repair And Maintenance: We will continue to provide safe, well maintained roadways for all township residents and to work with optimal efficiency in providing these services at the lowest possible cost to taxpayers.
- Fiscal Responsibility: We will ensure that the Township Government continues the best services for our residents and will be conservative with cost spending.
- Transparency: We will work to continue to implement technologies that will provide greater access to township services and improve communication.
Highway Department
The Downers Grove Township Highway Department maintains approximately 70 miles
of roadway in unincorporated areas of Downers Grove Township. The Highway
Department has typically had one of the lowest cost per mile for maintenance of the
nine townships in DuPage County. The Highway Department responsibilities include:
Snow and ice removal, Asphalt resurfacing and patching, Crack sealing, Gravel
shouldering, Pavement marking, Pothole repair, Curb and sidewalk maintenance,
Culvert replacement, Drainage improvement, Storm sewer repair and maintenance,
Right of way mowing & weed trimming, Tree trimming and removal, Brush pick-up,
Signage installation and maintenance, Street light maintenance, Street sweeping, and
Litter removal.
Giving Back
Through engagement and community outreach, we aim to create a more informed electorate
and ensure our local government remains accountable to its people.

Our DGT Team believes in giving back to organizations that support the residents of our community.
Our team have over 20 years of community services including:
- Senior Services: Including the expansion of our Senior Services and Built a Multi-
Purpose Senior Center. Created Senior programs that offer essential programs, foster
social and learning growth. The programs have grown from over 8,200 participants to
now 13,200.
- Food Drives: We have partnership with local Hinsdale Central High School and hosted
seasonal food drives resulting in over 4,000 pounds of food donated to our local food
pantries annually.
- Local School Partnerships: Hosted speaking events for schools on mental health,
social and academic success.
- Local Non Profit Experience: Including serving on boards and committees for
Chicago Prostate Cancer Foundation, D 86 PTO, D 181 Foundation,
Easter Seals of DuPage, HJWC, Kiwanis, Lombard Post Women’s Auxiliary,
Ray Graham Association, St. Isaac Jogues Parish Council,
Turning Pointe Center For Autism and Founding board members.
- Village Experience including: Willowbrook/Burr Ridge chamber of commerce,
Willowbrook Economic Development Partnership and Westchester village trustee
